Posted On August 14, 2020
Since changing the direction of Ursal.org and gathering information about our surname. This website have aggregate and gather information about the word “Ursal” and here are some information that I’ve get to know so far.
- URSAL is NOT a valid word
- Orsa It is a Latin name, meaning “baby bear” or “bear cub”
- Ursula is originally Latin and means “little female bear”.
- Ursula is a common first name in Germany
- Reason why Ursula is common in Germany has to do with a lot of devotion for St Ursula, particularly in Cologne (where St Ursula is supposed to have been martyred) and the Rhine area.
- The ursine seal always come up if you search “Ursal”
- A site couldn’t find any rhymes for the word ursal.
- That same site even asked “Is ursal wrong or has spelling mistakes?”
- There is a meaning, origin and history of the name Ursula but not Ursal
- I even found out that URSAL is a jocular acronym in Portuguese for “Union of Socialist Statelets of Latin America”[1] or “Union of Socialist Republics of Latin America” as mentioned in wikipedia.
That’s what I’ve learned so far, I’ll ad something to this list as I gather more information. Maybe I will come up with 10 information, and can title this “TOP TEN MEANINGS OF URSAL” , who knows.
Oh, by the way I’ve also saw a short youtube video of how to pronounce Ursal. That’s not I pronounce it but It’s close to how I do.
